School begins at DCS

Another year of school begins here at DuBois Christian Schools. It was a great day that focused on our relationship with God, and how we as students can walk closer to Him. The day started out with morning duty. Here the new students were able to get to know the teachers, and old students were able to catch up with each other. Then, Kindergarten through twelfth grade went to the auditorium and met together to sing praises to the Lord. We sang “Come, Now is the Time to Worship.” Then, Pastor Ben gave a devotional to all the students and staff, encouraging us to focus on each other and God more than ourselves. Then Pastor Matt, Danny Kennard, Drew Bundy, Deidre Kennard, Sarah Doughty, and, Special guest, Josh Hayes lead more singing again. Next, the High School went to work out their schedules; the Elementary went to their classes. Then, the real day began. After lunch, the High School met together in the lunch room. We were given the assignment to make a bridge across two tables with only news paper and tape. The winning bridge could hold over 200 lbs. Then, the High School split into five groups and went around to prayer stations. Praying about their classes, teachers, outreach, and many other things. It was a very spiritually uplifting activity.
