DuBois Christian Schools was founded in 1974 by First Baptist Church of DuBois. Originally known as DuBois Christian Academy, DCS began as an A.C.E. school (Accelerated Christian Education). In 1996 DCS transitioned to a traditional style of teaching using textbooks primarily from Abeka and Bob Jones Publishers.

Over 300 graduates have gone on to be successful in a wide variety of careers and ministries.

The mission of DCS is "To partner with Christian parents in the education of their children."
